JOIN US for three full days of Ozzy fun at the 54th Annual OzCon International as we make our triumphant return to southern California at the beautiful Kellogg West Conference Center on the Cal-Poly campus in Pomona—near three major airports: Ontario, John Wayne, and LAX. Seated atop a beautiful hill, this new OzCon site with its rolling wooded hills and farmscapes feels almost like Oz itself!
OzCon will begin mid-morning on Friday August 10th and run thru Sunday afternoon August 12th. We will again feature multi-track programming during the day and large group events in the evening. And of course we will have our Ozzy cosplay masquerade, our wonderful Dealers Room, the Oz Club’s auction of rare Baum and Oz material, the challenging quizzes, the treasure hunt, and relaxing after-parties!
Our theme is The Tin Woodman of Oz, celebrating the centennial of this Baum favorite. And since we’ll be in the greater Los Angeles area, how can we resist exploring the fascinating history of L. Frank Baum and The Wizard of Oz in Hollywood?
Our special guests so far include James Ortiz (right), creator of the off-Broadway hit The Woodsman. Using spectacular puppetry and unique storytelling methods, The Woodsman tells the origin of the Tin Woodman and how he lost his heart. Ortiz will introduce a filmed version of the play.
